Pep Guardiola responds on whether Trafford will leave Manchester City in the winter

Manchester City signed goalkeeper Trafford in the summer of 2025, but after completing the transfer of Donnarumma, James is currently not getting any playing time.

Details: Head coach Pep Guardiola was asked about the goalkeeper’s future at the club and whether he could leave during the winter transfer window.

Quote: “James Trafford is staying in January. He stays with us this season, absolutely,” Guardiola said at a press conference.

This season, James Trafford has made six appearances for Manchester City across all competitions. He kept two clean sheets and conceded seven goals.

On FIFA’s official page on the social network X, it was announced that the 26-year-old Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who spent last season with France’s PSG, has been named FIFA Goalkeeper of the Year 2025.

Reminder: Manchester City are preparing for the EFL Cup quarter-final, in which they will be without one of their wingers, Jérémy Doku, who will be unable to feature and help the team.
