Doku will not play again this year

Manchester City are preparing for their EFL Cup quarter-final clash, a match in which they will be without one of their wingers, Jérémy Doku, who will be unable to feature or help the team.

Details: Doku missed City’s previous match against Crystal Palace, and the Belgian will also be sidelined for the upcoming fixtures. According to City manager Pep Guardiola, Doku will not be seen on the pitch again this year.

Quote: “Jérémy Doku will be out again. I don’t know when he will return… maybe, I think, around the New Year, maybe Sunderland, for sure,” Guardiola said.

The match against Sunderland will take place away from home on 1 January. The game against Brentford will be played on Wednesday, 20 December, kicking off at 20:30 CET.

This season, Jérémy Doku has made 22 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing five assists.

Reminder: 25-year-old English central defender Marc Guéhi of Crystal Palace and the England national team has been identified by Manchester City’s coaching staff as their primary transfer target for the summer window.
