Manchester City defeated Borussia Dortmund 4–1, but Rodri missed the match — and Pep Guardiola has now explained why.

Details: After the game, the City manager revealed that the Spanish midfielder is still not fully fit. Rodri hasn’t been feeling at his best, and Guardiola preferred not to take any risks with him.

Quote: “He doesn’t feel perfect, so we didn’t want to take any chances… He’ll be fine. These small setbacks remind us that he needs a bit more time to feel good and get back to playing football,” Guardiola said.

Phil Foden, meanwhile, became the first player since 2008 to score two goals from outside the box in a single Champions League match — the last to do so was Alessandro Del Piero in Juventus’ clash with Real Madrid.

Reminder: Erling Haaland made history for Manchester City in the match against Borussia Dortmund.
