Own goal is the top scorer of Euro-2024. Spain go into the play-offs from the first place

Already at the start of the match, Spain had a great opportunity for a goal, but Gianluigi Donnarumma made an incredible dive to deflect Pedri's header from a few metres out.

After that Spain dominated the whole first half but failed to score. As for Italy, the reigning European champions failed to get a single shot on Unai Simone's goal in the first half.

In the second half, the pattern of play did not change, but in the 55th minute Spain still managed to score. After a shot from the left flank, Alvaro Morata's head barely touched the ball, which disorientated Gianluigi Donnarumma, who shot straight at Riccardo Calafiori's foot - own goal.

Interestingly, this is already the fifth own goal for the entire European Championship-2024.

Thanks to this victory, the Spanish national team guaranteed themselves a play-off from the first place. Luis de la Fuente's team will finish the group stage with a game against Albania. Italy with 3 points is in second place, and in the final round will play against Croatia, which has 1 point.
