Only Barry and Lampard ahead. Rice makes Premier League history

Declan Rice has reached another milestone in the Premier League. The Arsenal midfielder started the Gunners’ match against Brighton on Matchday 5, making his 300th appearance in the competition from the opening whistle.

According to Opta, at 27 years and 249 days old, he became the third-youngest player in Premier League history to reach the milestone. Only Gareth Barry and Frank Lampard made 300 starts at a younger age than Rice. Barry reached the mark at 26 years and 323 days, while Lampard did so at 27 years and 209 days.

Rice began his professional career at West Ham, joining the club from Chelsea’s academy. He made his debut for the Hammers in the 2016/17 season and went on to make 204 Premier League appearances. In the summer of 2023, the midfielder moved to Arsenal, where he quickly became one of the team’s leaders.

Rice won the first trophy of his career with West Ham, lifting the UEFA Europa Conference League in the 2022/23 season. With Arsenal, he became an English champion in the 2025/26 season.
