The national teams of England and Slovakia battled for a place in the Euro 2024 quarterfinals.

Contrary to expectations, the match began with Slovakia taking the initiative, appearing more confident than their renowned opponents. Garaslin had a significant opportunity in the 12th minute, but his shot was blocked by Guehi.

England looked remarkably lackluster. The events on the pitch culminated in a deserved goal for Slovakia, with Schranz opening the scoring.

At halftime, the teams went in with Slovakia holding a deserved narrow lead. England struggled to create any truly dangerous chances against Dubravka.

Early in the second half, England surged forward, and Foden found the net, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

However, England's attacking momentum quickly dissipated, and the match continued at a pace comfortable for Slovakia, who controlled the proceedings.

In the 80th minute, the founders of football had a golden opportunity, but Rice hit the post, and Kane's follow-up went wide of Dubravka’s goal.

When it seemed that everything was going to fiasco for the English, Bellingham equalized the score with a spectacular overhead kick and took the game into overtime.

And immediately, at the start of the first extra-time, England took the lead. Kane headed the ball into Slovakia's goal and turned everything upside down.

In the remaining time, the English brought the match to victory and advanced to the next round.

In the round of 8 of the European Championship, England will play against Switzerland, which knocked Italy out of the tournament.
