OFFICIAL: RB Leipzig buys out Xavi Simons' contract from PSG
Dutch midfielder Xavi Simons, who had been on loan at RB Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain, is now officially a permanent player for the German club.
Details: RB Leipzig has confirmed that an agreement has been reached to sign Simons on a permanent transfer from PSG. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a contract with the "Red Bulls" until June 30, 2027.
So far, the Dutchman has scored 15 goals and provided 19 assists in 60 appearances for Leipzig.
Quote: "I have always said that I feel at home in Leipzig, and it is an honor for me to see how highly the club values me. In the coming weeks and months, I can fully focus on our shared goals—qualifying for the Champions League for the seventh consecutive season and reaching the German Cup final in Berlin. That’s all that matters now!" Simons said in a club statement.
Reminder: Recently, RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose firmly dismissed any speculation about a potential winter transfer for striker Benjamin Šeško.
