Official! Jamie Vardy has found a new club
Jamie Vardy is back in English football.
Details: Burnley have officially announced the signing of 39-year-old English striker Jamie Vardy. The experienced forward has joined Nicky Hayen's side on a contract until the end of the current season and will now help the Clarets in their Championship campaign.
Vardy spent the previous campaign in Italy with Cremonese, but has now decided to return to his homeland. Burnley confirmed the transfer through their official channels on September 6.
The striker said he was delighted to join Burnley and highlighted the club's footballing history and passionate supporters. Vardy also stressed that he cannot wait to get on the pitch and help the team move in the right direction.
Head coach Nicky Hayen welcomed the arrival of the veteran forward, pointing to his enormous experience and leadership qualities. The Burnley manager believes Vardy can make a significant impact during the club's push this season.
It is worth noting that Vardy made 29 Serie A appearances for Cremonese in the 2025/26 season, scoring seven goals and providing two assists. Earlier in his career, the forward became a Premier League champion with Leicester and established himself as one of the most prolific English strikers of his generation.
