Official: Ghana national team sacks head coach two months before World Cup

A new coach will prepare the Ghanaian national team for the World Cup.
Details: Today, the official Ghana national team page on social network X announced that 50-year-old coach Otto Addo has been dismissed from his position as head coach following a friendly match against Germany.
At this moment, the reasons for such a drastic decision ahead of the 2026 World Cup remain unknown.
In Ghana, Addo was thanked for his work and it was reported that the search for his successor is already underway.
Otto Addo took charge of the Ghanaian national team in March 2024. During his tenure, he managed 34 matches, recording 13 wins, 8 draws, and 13 losses.
Addo also led Ghana to World Cup qualification, where they are set to face England, Croatia, and Panama in the group stage.
