Official: FIFA announces unique partnership with TikTok platform for the 2026 World Cup
This marks the first partnership of its kind in FIFA's history.
Details: Today, FIFA's official page on social network X announced that the organization and TikTok have reached an agreement for a groundbreaking partnership during the upcoming summer's World Cup.
According to the announcement, this agreement between FIFA and TikTok will grant users exclusive access to behind-the-scenes team footage, interviews, referee chest-cam recordings, and will also launch a unique global program for content creators.

One of the major privileges for TikTok will be the ability to stream World Cup matches directly on the platform and even monetize them. FIFA hopes this move will be a major step in combating illegal streaming.
“FIFA's goal is to share the excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2026 with as many fans as possible, and we can think of no better way to advance this mission during the biggest sporting event in history than by making TikTok the tournament’s preferred platform,” said FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström.
TikTok has also stated that it highly values the partnership with FIFA and is ready for an entirely new project, which should be a significant step forward for all football fans:
“TikTok GamePlan turns fan activity into measurable business results for our sports partners: fans are 42% more likely to watch live match streams after viewing sports content on TikTok. We’re reaching a new generation of football fans—especially young and female audiences—and transforming this passion into real engagement and unprecedented levels of involvement,” said James Stafford, TikTok’s Global Head of Content Operations.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held in Canada, the United States, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026. It will be the first tournament with 48 teams and 104 matches, and the first ever to take place across three countries. The opening match will be held in Mexico City, with the final set for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (USA).
