NPFL: Nasarawa United Hero Moyi Hassan Excited After Scoring Match-Winning Goal Against Shooting Stars
Nasarawa United midfielder Moyi Hassan was the star of the show on Monday evening as he came off the bench to score the decisive goal against Shooting Stars at Lafia City Stadium. His strike secured a 1-0 victory for the Solid Miners in the match-day sixteen tie of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).
The goal marked Hassan’s first of the season, making the moment even more special for the midfielder and the fans. Speaking after the game, Hassan expressed his joy and satisfaction at helping his team clinch maximum points.
"I feel so excited to have scored the only goal that gave my team the maximum points today, incidentally, it's my first goal this season. "We actually worked hard for this game, going by our previous result in Delta State. "We enjoy seeing our supporters and fans happy, and we are glad that we didn't disappoint them today.
"Going forward, I wish to continue to work hard to help my team win games, and I hope to score more goals for the team, say, like seven or ten goals."
The victory was crucial as it saw Nasarawa United return to the top of the NPFL table with 30 points, two ahead of second-placed Ikorodu City FC. The Solid Miners’ win also boosted morale ahead of their next clash.
Nasarawa United will now prepare to face regional rivals Plateau United on match-day seventeen next Sunday in Jos.
