Nasarawa United Boss Abubakar Arikya Says Solid Miners Fully Deserved Win Over Shooting Stars
Nasarawa United head coach, Abubakar Arikya, believes his team earned their hard-fought 1–0 victory against Shooting Stars in Monday’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 16 encounter.
The Solid Miners secured all three points thanks to a 34th-minute strike from substitute Moyi Hassan, whose decisive goal sealed the win for the Lafia-based side.
Speaking to the club’s media team after the match, Arikya praised his players’ performance and acknowledged the resilience of the visitors.
“We deserved to win because we played better, without undermining the efforts of our opponents who gave us a run for our money,”

The coach also highlighted the importance of shifting focus quickly to their next challenge.
“We will turn our focus now to our next game against our next-door neighbours, Plateau United, next weekend.”
Nasarawa United will travel to Jos for their matchday 17 clash against Plateau United next Sunday, as they look to build on their momentum in the NPFL.
