NPFL: Majin Mohammed Blames Niger Tornadoes’ 2–0 Defeat to Kwara United on “A Bad Day”
Niger Tornadoes head coach Majin Mohammed has blamed his side’s 2–0 defeat to Kwara United in their NPFL Matchday 16 clash on what he described as “a bad day” for the Minna-based team.
Speaking after the match in Ilorin, Mohammed admitted that the Ikon Allah Boys never found their footing, especially after a first half that saw them concede twice and lose two players to injury.
“If there is anything called a bad day in football, I think Tornadoes had one today. Kwara United scored twice and we suffered two injuries, all in the first half, which destabilised our game plan,” he said.
The coach also credited Kwara United for their sharpness and better execution, noting that their preparedness made the difference.
“Kwara United showed class. They were clearly well prepared for this game—perhaps because of recent scorelines—and it also shows that the position of a team on the log doesn’t always matter,” he added.
With the defeat behind them, Niger Tornadoes will now focus on regrouping as they prepare to host El-Kanemi Warriors in Minna in their next NPFL outing. The team will be eager to respond and put the disappointment of Ilorin behind them.
