Not the best start to a career. Napoli newcomer was robbed in his own car after a Serie A match
Yesterday, on August 31st, in the third round of Italy's Serie A, Napoli hosted Parma. The match ended with a dramatic comeback victory for the home side in injury time. Goals were scored by Romelu Lukaku and Franck Anguissa, with one of the assists credited to David Neres.
However, the Brazilian faced a rather unpleasant incident afterward. As Neres was leaving the stadium grounds in his car, he was subjected to an armed robbery. According to CalcioNapoli24, two assailants approached his vehicle on a motorcycle, smashed his window, and, threatening him with a gun, demanded his wristwatch.
After the footballer complied with the robbers' demands, they fled the scene. Fortunately, Neres was unharmed, though his car sustained damage. As of now, there is no information regarding the apprehension of the criminals.
David Neres has been playing in Europe since 2016, when he moved from São Paulo to Ajax. He later played for Shakhtar Donetsk and Benfica before joining Napoli less than two weeks ago.
