Manchester City began the new season with three victories, but the team's head coach, Pep Guardiola, believes these games were merely an extension of their preseason preparations.
"Pre-season is over today. It's over officially. The real season starts after the international break...", Guardiola's words were quoted by Sky Sports.
Several key Manchester City players who participated in Euro 2024 over the summer have barely featured this season, including Spanish midfielder Rodri and Phil Foden.
In the Premier League's opening round, City defeated Chelsea (2-0), followed by wins over Ipswich (4-1) and West Ham (3-1).
On September 14, the English champions will face Brentford at home.
