The Catalan club has expressed outrage over the match schedule and intends to file an official complaint with the Spanish football authorities, as reported by Marca. Following critical remarks from head coach Hansi Flick on Friday, Barcelona released a statement supporting his view and emphasizing the need to reconsider the approach to scheduling.

FC Barcelona has repeatedly expressed its disagreement this season with the principles on which La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation schedule match times. We fully support our coach's position and also believe that teams participating in multiple tournaments at the final stages of the season deserve more considerate treatment. While understanding the complexity of organizing the calendar, we will continue to defend the club's interests at both national and international levels. In the near future, we will file an official complaint to prevent the recurrence of similar situations that negatively affect the health and performance of leading players, the club's statement said.

Flick has repeatedly voiced his dissatisfaction with the congested and, in his words, unfair schedule. He noted that La Liga, unlike the Premier League or Bundesliga, does not care about the welfare of clubs participating in multiple tournaments.

Barcelona is set to play Valladolid on May 3 at 21:00, and then just three days later, they will face Inter in the Champions League semi-final in Milan on May 6. Initially, the match against Valladolid was scheduled for Sunday, May 4, but after Barca advanced to the Champions League semi-finals, it was moved to Saturday, May 3 — with the kickoff set for the late time of 21:00.
