Wayne Rooney’s legendary football career hasn’t translated into managerial success, as the former Manchester United striker continues to struggle in the coaching profession. He now finds himself on the verge of losing his position at yet another club.

Details: According to The Telegraph, the 39-year-old manager has two matches—against Oxford and Swansea—to improve his standing at Plymouth Argyle. While these games may not be decisive, they will significantly influence the club’s leadership’s perception of his future.

Club officials acknowledge that injuries have impacted the team’s results, but the recent string of poor performances has raised serious concerns.

Reminder: Rooney took over at Plymouth in May 2024. Since then, the Manchester United legend has managed 20 matches, winning only five, with another five ending in draws. Half of Plymouth’s games under Rooney this season have ended in defeat.

The team currently sits 21st in the Championship, just two points above the relegation zone.
