Manchester City star Phil Foden has endured a harrowing ordeal after an incident involving his relative just ten days ago. According to The Sun, a fire broke out at his cousin's home.
The blaze erupted in the early hours of May 2 at the Stockport residence of Cody Owen. At the time, she was inside with her three children. Thanks to quick thinking, she managed to lead her children out of the burning home, miraculously escaping the flames.
It is believed that a faulty bathroom fan on the upper floor sparked the fire. Firefighters arrived at the scene at around 1:20 a.m. and managed to extinguish the blaze. The Sun reports that Foden was left shocked by the incident and, according to a source, is already helping his cousin find a new place to live, as she and her children are unable to return due to the damage caused by the fire.
“Phil was really upset when he heard about it. He and Cody are very close—he treats her like a sister and adores her children,” a source told The Sun.
It's worth noting that this season, Phil Foden has made 43 appearances for Man City across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing 6 assists.
