Newly-appointed Durban City coach Sinethemba Badela speaks about his relationship with MC Alger coach Rulani Mokwena
Sinethemba Badela has spoken about his strong relationship with Rulani Mokwena.
Badela, the newly-appointed Durban City coach, has been Mokwena’s protégé as the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach mentored him in becoming a gaffer.
“We have a very good relationship with coach Rulani, he helped me so much in my coaching journey and my career,” Badela told Victor Molefe on Prime Time Sports on UKhozi FM.
“I played under his guidance a bit but he then encouraged me to get into coaching. He helps me all the time.
“Anytime when I want to speak to someone, I speak to him. He helps me a lot, so he’s someone that is very close to me.”
Badela left Chippa United at the start of the current Betway Premiership season but left after two games having differed with club management.
Newcomers, Durban City, roped him in having parted ways with Gavin Hunt late last year and before returning to South Africa, Badela worked with Mokwena at Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca.
He left the Moroccans when Mokwena was fired but he did not go to Algeria when Mokwena was appointed at MC Alger.
