Newcastle to battle PSG for Zabarnyi

Newcastle could beat PSG in the race for Illia Zabarnyi.
Details: While Paris Saint-Germain’s management drags out negotiations in pursuit of a better deal, Newcastle are prepared to meet Bournemouth’s financial demands and finalize the transfer of Illia Zabarnyi.
According to The Athletic, the 22-year-old Ukraine international defender has become one of the Magpies’ top targets in the summer transfer window. Despite PSG’s interest, hesitation from the Parisians could prove decisive—Bournemouth have made it clear they will not let the player go for less than €70 million. While PSG see this sum as excessive, Newcastle are ready to pay it in full.
Zabarnyi himself previously expressed a desire to test himself at PSG, but Newcastle’s ambitious European project could prove just as enticing for the young defender.
Illia Zabarnyi joined Bournemouth in January 2023 from Dynamo Kyiv for €23 million and quickly established himself as a key figure in the Cherries’ back line. Last season, he made 39 appearances and registered one assist. His contract runs until 2029, and his market value, according to Transfermarkt, stands at €42 million.
