Newcastle face potential UEFA punishment. What’s the issue?
Newcastle United competed in this season’s UEFA Champions League but have already been eliminated, unfortunately. However, further issues may now surface for the Magpies.
Details: According to information from Martyn Ziegler of The Times, the English club risks receiving a substantial fine from UEFA. The problem lies in the fact that they did not recognise a “profit” of £133 million from the sale of their stadium to a subsidiary company.
Incidentally, UEFA has also confirmed a sensational scenario in which even the team finishing seventh in the Premier League this season could secure a place in next year’s Champions League.
However, a number of conditions in European competitions would need to align, with Liverpool and Aston Villa playing key roles. We have outlined all possible scenarios for how such a situation could unfold.
Reminder: Legendary Newcastle United striker and England international Alan Shearer stunned his followers by posting photos showing the aftermath of a serious road traffic accident.
