Liverpool's management has started working on defensive reinforcement scenarios amid uncertainty over the future of Ibrahima Konaté.
Details: According to Sports Boom, the Merseyside club is considering Newcastle defender Sven Botman as one of its priority targets for the upcoming summer, should Konaté decide to leave as a free agent.
Reports suggest that despite the Dutchman's injury history, Botman is still highly rated among Premier League clubs. For the Magpies, the situation is complicated by the fact that holding on to their defensive leader will be extremely difficult if the team fails to qualify for the Champions League at the end of the current season.
Notably, this season the Dutch centre-back has made 24 appearances for Newcastle in all competitions, recording one goal and one assist. Transfermarkt values him at €35 million.
Reminder: Future Liverpool defender Jérémy Jacquet has suffered a serious injury.
