The transfer window in England opened in the middle of the month, and teams are actively working in the market. Previously, we reported that Newcastle was interested in signing Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin. However, he is not the only player on their radar.

According to the Daily Mail, the Magpies are also keeping an eye on Nottingham Forest forward Anthony Elanga. Moreover, Newcastle is interested in a player exchange rather than a transfer. In exchange for Elanga, Nottingham Forest could acquire Elliot Anderson.

This type of deal is most acceptable for Newcastle, as they work on increasing revenues to comply with the profitability and sustainability rules of the English Premier League (PSR).

Anthony Elanga is a product of Manchester United’s academy, where he began his career. He played for the first team starting in 2021 and moved to Nottingham Forest before the start of last season for €17.5 million. According to Transfermarkt, the player's current market value is €22 million.
