Barcelona are on the verge of a sensational coup, closing in on the signing of one of English football’s brightest young prospects. The player in question is 15-year-old Norwich City and England U17 forward Ajay Tavares, who has been pursued by some of Europe’s top clubs.
According to The Sun, despite interest from RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund, it’s the Catalan giants who are set to win the race for the highly-rated striker—already drawing comparisons to Lamine Yamal.
The young forward holds a European passport, which allows him to move abroad before turning 18. This summer, he also made his debut for Norwich’s senior team in a friendly against Volendam, though he has yet to feature in an official first-team match.
