Catalan giants Barcelona have retained top spot in La Liga and maintained a four-point lead over Real Madrid in their final match of 2025. Hansi Flick's squad secured an away victory over Villarreal, thanks to goals from Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.
In total, Barça found the net 169 times in 2025. Only four times in the club's entire history have they scored more in a calendar year—and each of those occasions came during the Lionel Messi era: 180 goals in 2015, 175 in 2012, 174 in 2016, and 170 in 2011.
It’s also worth noting that the Catalans were held scoreless in just one of their 60 matches in 2025. The only team to keep a clean sheet against them? London’s Chelsea. The Blues defeated the Blaugrana 3-0 in their Champions League clash.
