In the 17th round of the Spanish La Liga, Barcelona will play away against Villarreal. This will be the final match of 2025 for both teams.
Notably, Robert Lewandowski is once again missing from the Catalans’ starting eleven. The Polish striker has lost out to Ferran Torres, who is currently Barcelona’s top scorer.
Interestingly, this match against Villarreal marks the third consecutive La Liga fixture where Lewandowski starts from the bench. The last time he featured in the starting lineup was back on December 2 against Atletico, a match in which he missed a penalty.
It’s worth adding that this season, the 37-year-old forward has scored 8 goals in 17 appearances across all competitions.
