Germany has set a new all-time record at the FIFA World Cup.

This marks the 12th time Germany has gone to extra time at the World Cup—a new standalone record in tournament history.
Previously, Germany shared the lead with Italy and Argentina, who have both played 11 extra-time matches at the World Cup.
Next on the all-time list is England with 10 such matches, followed by France, Spain, and Brazil with 8 each, and the Netherlands with 7 extra-time games.
