Newly minted Los Angeles Lakers head coach J.J. Redick revealed that he doesn't pay attention to criticism from haters.

The 39-year-old Redick has never worked as a coach before. This will be his debut in the role.

"Of course I'm aware of everything that's been said about me. It's been an interesting six weeks, I've become an important part of the content production industry, it's been very interesting.

But I don't have a good answer to that question because I really don't give a ****.

I want to coach the Lakers, I want to coach a basketball team. I don't want to disprove anything. I want to be a successful NBA coach and win championships. I want my players to maximize their exposure, develop their careers. That's all I care about," Redick said.

Redick was an NBA commentator this past season, and his YouTube podcast has more than a million subscribers. It was how Lakers bosses heard Redick's interesting tactical ideas that convinced them.

Recall, the Lakers sent Darwin Gam retired after a first-round playoff elimination last NBA season.

Earlier it was reported that the Lakers at any cost intend to keep the legendary LeBron James in their lineup.
