Investigators are working to determine the cause of the accident, closely analyzing tire marks on the road. Their findings indicate that the car was traveling faster than the set speed limit of 120 km/h.
Authorities also state that all available evidence confirms Diogo Jota was behind the wheel at the time of the crash.
Earlier, independent expert Javier Lopez Delgado commented on the incident, noting that the road where the tragedy occurred had "multiple faults," and that just a few days earlier, a near-fatal crash had happened at the same location. In his view, speed was not the only factor in this tragedy—the road surface itself played a crucial role in causing the accident.
