Mohamed Salah and his teammates arrive for Liverpool’s preseason after Diogo Jota tragedy
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and his teammates have returned from their summer break and are set to kick off preparations for the new season. The Egyptian forward was spotted arriving at the team’s training ground by car, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Their return comes in the wake of heartbreaking news about the tragic death of their teammate Diogo Jota in a car accident. Notably, unlike some of his fellow players, Salah did not attend the funeral of the Portuguese forward.

Nevertheless, Salah admitted he was deeply shocked by the news of Jota’s passing. He paid an emotional tribute to his fallen teammate and extended his support to Jota’s family.
Among the Liverpool players who attended the farewell ceremony for Jota and his younger brother were Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister, Joe Gomez, Andy Robertson, and others. Head coach Arne Slot was also present at the funeral.
It should be recalled that Diogo Jota and his brother died in a car crash in Spain on the night of July 2 to 3.
