Napoli has recently ramped up efforts to sign Liverpool striker Darwin Núñez. However, the Partenopei have a plan B in place should negotiations with the Reds fall through.
Details: According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli has made an offer to Udinese for forward Lorenzo Lucca. The Friulian club could receive a bid in the region of €33–34 million, but their response is still pending.
Meanwhile, at the Diego Maradona Stadium, everyone is eagerly awaiting Liverpool’s reply to Napoli’s bid for Núñez. Napoli has tabled a €50 million offer plus an additional €5 million in bonuses. The player himself has been offered a contract worth €5–6 million per year.
For their part, Liverpool are expected to demand a significantly higher fee, as they previously paid €75 million for Núñez in the original transfer. Ultimately, the final decision rests with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
Reminder: Earlier reports stated that Núñez is interested in a move to Napoli.
