Napoli has announced the extension of the contract with their leading striker Victor Osimhen. The new agreement with the Nigerian forward runs until the summer of 2026, while the previous deal was set to expire in 2025.
While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, early reported that the new release clause for the player will be set at €130 million.
Osimhen has been part of the Naples team since July 2020. His transfer to the Italian side amounted to €70 million (plus an additional €10 million in potential bonuses), making him Napoli's most expensive acquisition in history.
Acknowledged as the best Serie A forward in the 2022/23 season, Osimhen’s 26 goals significantly contributed to the club's long-awaited Scudetto, bringing immense joy to the team and its supporters.
In the current season, the Nigerian striker has scored eight goals in 17 appearances across all competitions. Napoli currently holds the sixth position in the Serie A table. Today, on December 23, they will face Roma with the match kicking off at 20:45 Central European Time.
