The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) is funding the renovation of Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia, Liberia, as part of a 2020 cooperation agreement with the Liberian Football Association (LFA).
Key Upgrades for the Stadium
The LFA announced on Monday, February 10, that the project includes:
- Installation of a modern pitch
- Underground drainage system
- Construction of a water treatment station
The purpose of this improvement is to guarantee appropriate facility upkeep and enhance playing conditions. Cutting-edge water management technology will help the stadium, which can accommodate about 10,000 people, maintain its surface in optimal condition.
Strengthening Football Ties in Africa
With an emphasis on infrastructure development, refereeing, and training, the FRMF has inked more than 40 agreements with different African football federations. Similar support was provided to Guinea for the Lansana Conté Stadium renovation after the 2023 AFCON to help the Syli National host home matches again.
This initiative reinforces Morocco’s commitment to African football, strengthening ties with sub-Saharan nations through sports diplomacy and technical support.
