Mohamed Salah's Unique Yellow Card Pattern Highlights His Fiery Celebrations
Mohamed Salah made more history for Liverpool in their thrilling 3-2 win over Southampton in the Premier League. He scored twice, including a crucial penalty in the 83rd minute. Salah’s shirt-removal celebration led to him being shown a yellow card, something that has happened before in his career.
It is interesting to note that of Salah’s nine yellow cards in the Premier League for Liverpool, five have been for shirt-removal celebrations. This includes important games against Southampton (2018-19), Manchester United (2019-20 and 2022-23), and Crystal Palace (2021-22).

The Egyptian received additional yellows for simulation or disobedience rather than fouls. Remarkably, his sole yellow card with Chelsea also came against Liverpool in 2014. Salah’s only career red card occurred during his Roma tenure in Serie A in 2015-16.
Salah’s brace also strengthened Liverpool’s league lead and his iconic status, where even his celebrations are a tale worth telling.
