Manqoba Mngqithi's frustated by Marumo Gallants tactics as Golden Arrows fail to earn a final spot in the Carling Knockout semifinal match
Manqoba Mngqithi is a frustrated man.
The Lamontville Golden Arrows coach is ruing his luck as his side lost 4-2 on penalties against Marumo Gallants in a carling Cup Knockout semi-final match at King Zwelithini Stadium yesterday.
Arrows and Gallants game needed penalties to separate the two sides as the game ended 2-2 in regulation time.
“During the extra time period, I don't think I've seen a team create so many chances in 15 minutes,” Mngqithi said after the game yesterday in Durban.
“At the end of the day, they came with a strategy, knowing very well that Washington Arubi is good at saving penalties.”
The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach is right. His side was dominating the entire game but sadly ended up on the losing side.
"I'm not impressed with their football, but the summary of it is that they are in the final," he concluded.
