Manqoba Mngqithi on Golden Arrows' season: I think now we have a realistic chance of aiming for the top eight as my team has the capacity
Manqoba Mngqithi has accepted Golden Arrows are now aiming to finish in the top eight having failed to make a meaningful challenge in the Nedbank Cup.
Arrows were dumped out of the Ke Yona competition by provincial neighbours Durban City in the quarterfinals despite dominating proceedings.
Abafana Bes’thende are on the 12th spot on the PSL standings and the former Mamelodi Sundowns gaffer has admitted they only have the top eight to aim this season.
Arrows, though, under Mngqithi have been playing enterprising football but somewhat have failed replicate the good football to winning.
“My wish is to finish inside the top eight, and I still believe, and it’s not a far-fetched wish,” Mngqithi told the media.
“I see my team having the capacity to do that.”
This weekend they face Marumo Gallants away from home and it is that game Mngqithi will be launching his plan to see the team finish in the top eight.
