Tomorrow, on March 17th, the culminating matches of the sixth round of the oldest football tournament in the world – the FA Cup of the 2023/24 season – are scheduled to take place. On this day, two matches will be held, and one of them will feature Manchester United against Liverpool.

Manchester United continues their pursuit in the FA Cup, hoping to clinch at least some silverware this season. They suffered a defeat to Newcastle (0:3) in the fourth round of the League Cup, and their chances of victory in the Premier League seem exceedingly slim. Moreover, they were eliminated from the Champions League after the group stage. Thus, the FA Cup remains their last hope.

Liverpool, on the other hand, persists in the battle for every trophy this season. Jurgen Klopp will aim to depart the team with an array of trophies. His team has already secured the League Cup, they are second in the Premier League standings, and they comfortably advanced to the quarter-finals of the Europa League. Undoubtedly, the "Reds" do not plan to surrender in the FA Cup.

Several renowned sources, such as Sofascore, Besoccer, and Whoscored, have already put forth their assumptions regarding the possible starting line-ups of each team.

It is worth noting that both teams have incurred losses ahead of the match, with numerous players sidelined due to various reasons.

Manchester United will be without the services of six players in this game: Tyrell Malasia, Anthony Martial, Lisandro Martinez, Mason Mount, Luke Shaw, and Omari Forson. Additionally, there is uncertainty regarding the participation of Harry Maguire.

Liverpool, meanwhile, has seven players sidelined due to injuries: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson, Stefan Bajcetic, Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, Joel Matip, and Thiago. The involvement of Ibrahim Konate in the match is also questionable.

Regarding Manchester United's starting lineup, sources disagree only on two players.

In goal, Andre Onana will likely start. In defense, Victor Lindelof will play on the left, Raphael Varane in the center, and Diogo Dalot on the right. The question remains as to who will fill the vacant spot in the center of defense. This position could be taken by either Jonny Evans or Harry Maguire, provided the latter is fit to play.

In midfield, fans hope to see Casemiro, Kobi Mainu, Marcus Rashford, and Alejandro Garnacho. The question remains about who will play in the attack. It could be Rasmus Højbjerg, supported by Bruno Fernandes, or Fernandes himself leading the attack with Scott McTominay's assistance.

  • Predicted Manchester United line-ups:
    Onana – Lindelof, Maguire/Evans, Varane, Dalot – Casemiro, Mainu – Rashford, Fernandes/McTominay, Garnacho – Fernandes/Højbjerg

As for Liverpool's starting lineup, there is much more disagreement among sources. Due to Alisson's injury, Caoimhin Kelleher is likely to start in goal. Andrew Robertson is expected to play in defense, but his partner is currently unknown. Options include Virgil van Dijk, Jarell Quansah, Joseph Gomez, Conor Bradley, or Ibrahim Konate, despite his injury.

In midfield, it's expected to be Dominic Solanke and Vataru Endo. The third player in the midfield line remains uncertain. Alexis Mac Allister or Bobby Clark could fill this role.

In attack, Mohamed Salah is likely to play on the right, Darwin Nunez in the center, and either Luis Diaz or Cody Gakpo on the left.

  • Predicted Liverpool line-ups:
    Kelleher – Robertson, Van Dijk/Gomez, Quansah/Konate, Bradley/Gomez – Solanke, Endo, Mac Allister/Clark – Diaz/Gakpo, Nunez, Salah
