The transfer window in England opened more than two weeks ago and clubs are active in the market. There are already a few signings by clubs, but for sure all the most interesting things are still to come.

Manchester United are not left out and according to The Daily briefing, the club have already started transfer talks for Bayern Munich and Netherlands defender Matthijs de Ligt.

The source says that the Red Devils have already been in contact with the player's representatives. But there was no constructive dialog, because de Ligt himself asks not to start negotiations yet. While the Dutchman is focused on performances at the European Championship.

Recall that the Dutch national team entered the playoffs of Euro 2024 and on Tuesday will play against Romania.

Manchester United are actively searching for candidates for the position of central defender, and they consider de Ligt a great option. Apart from the Red Devils, a number of other clubs are keeping an eye on the player, but none of them have made contact with the players so far.

The value of de Ligt's contract, according to the statistics portal Transfermarkt is €65 million and United are ready to pay for him so much, and if necessary, to increase the price by €5 million.

The defender's contract with Bayern Munich runs until 2027, but in case of a good offer, we can expect another high-profile transfer this summer.
