Last night, two boxing events took place on different coasts of the USA.

In Phoenix, Arizona, fans were treated to a tournament headlined by a bout for the WBC World Super Flyweight title (up to 52.2 kg). The reigning champion, Mexican Juan Francisco Estrada, faced off against American challenger Jesse Rodriguez.

The American entered the ring determined to win and dominated his opponent, knocking him out in the seventh round to claim the championship belt. According to Compubox data, Rodriguez completely outclassed his opponent in punches. The new champion landed 66 jabs, 50 more than Estrada, and had a slight edge in power punches (90-79).

Two more championship fights took place in Phoenix. In the WBC Continental Americas super bantamweight title bout (up to 55.3 kg), Arturo Popoca won by unanimous decision. Meanwhile, the women's WBC World Super Bantamweight title (up to 55.3 kg) was claimed by Mexican Yamileth Mercado, also by unanimous decision.

Simultaneously, on the other coast in Miami, Florida, another tournament was held, headlined by a bout for the WBO World Super Lightweight title (up to 63.5 kg). The reigning champion, Teofimo Lopez from the USA, fought Canadian challenger Steve Claggett. The bout was fairly even, but Lopez's superior skill level allowed him to secure a unanimous decision victory after twelve rounds.

Additionally, Miami hosted another championship bout. Cuban Robeisy Ramirez and Mexican Brandon Leon Benitez competed for the vacant WBO NABO featherweight title (up to 57.2 kg). The two-time Olympic champion Ramirez knocked out his opponent in the seventh round.
