Liverpool vs Brentford Predicted line-ups and latest news
The final match of the second round of the English Premier League will feature Liverpool taking on Brentford.
Liverpool began the season confidently with a victory in their opening match against newly-promoted Ipswich Town. Brentford also secured three points in their first-round encounter, defeating Crystal Palace at home.
Both teams enter this match with minimal injuries. Liverpool’s squad is fully fit, while Brentford will be without Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey, and newcomer Thiago.
This match will mark the first Premier League home game at Anfield for Liverpool’s new manager, Arne Slot. When asked about this during the pre-match press conference, Slot shared his anticipation:
"It won’t be my first game at Anfield since we’ve already played here against Sevilla. But clearly, it’s the first Premier League match at Anfield. I’m looking forward to it. I look forward to every game I’ve coached in the past, and this one is no different."
Brentford's manager, Thomas Frank, provided updates on his injured players, particularly Rico Henry:
"Rico is progressing very well, and we hope he’ll be ready to join the team soon.
He’s been training here with the full squad without any restrictions."
