Liverpool star assessed Jurgen Klopp's chances of leading the England national team

Liverpool and England star Trent Alexander-Arnold commented on the possibility of Jurgen Klopp becoming the manager of the England national team.

The former Liverpool player admitted he would be shocked to see the 57-year-old German coach take on the England job.

“I would be extremely surprised... I thought Klopp would need a break from football. It would be a huge surprise; I think we can rule out him taking charge of England.”

I enjoyed every minute working with him. We created some amazing memories, we have an incredible connection and relationship, so if it ever happens, we would continue from where we left off,” said the Liverpool defender.

Last week, it was announced that Gareth Southgate stepped down as England manager after almost eight years in charge.

Earlier reports suggested Newcastle's head coach Eddie Howe was considered for the role, but the "Magpies" refused to let him go.

In addition to Klopp and Howe, other candidates mentioned included Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel, and England U21 manager Lee Carsley.
