Liverpool show interest in Germany's U-21 national team centre midfielder

The central midfield has become a troublesome position for Liverpool. Although the club failed to sign any midfielders during the summer transfer window, they are planning to address this issue in the winter.
Details: According to Christian Falk, Liverpool has shown serious interest in Freiburg’s central midfielder and Germany U-21 international, Merlin Röhl.
It is reported that Liverpool scouts monitored Röhl in the early matches of the season and were impressed by his performances.
This month, Röhl extended his contract with Freiburg, but that is not expected to prevent the 22-year-old midfielder from making a potential move to Anfield, should Liverpool decide to pursue him further.
Last season, Röhl registered two goals and four assists in 24 appearances.
Reminder: During the last summer transfer window, Liverpool made just one signing—forward Federico Chiesa, who joined from Juventus.
