After a prolonged drought in the transfer market, Liverpool are ready to fire off a high-profile purchase, but there is a catch.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Merseysiders have completed the transfer of Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili for 35 million euros. The latter has successfully passed a medical examination in Liverpool.

‘Bats’ will have a buy-back option, and they will keep the Georgian for another season, but on loan.

Thus, if you follow the clubs' plan, Mamardashvili will immediately return to Valencia, and the official transfer to Anfield will take place next summer, when Liverpool will decide on the future of Alisson on the eve of his 33rd birthday.

It was previously thought that the 23-year-old Georgian could move on loan to Bournemouth to better adapt to English football, but the Cherries have focussed on the candidacy of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa.
