Liverpool has held talks with a candidate for the position of head coach

Liverpool continues its active search for a replacement for Jurgen Klopp, who will depart Merseyside in the summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, representatives of the club have conducted initial discussions with coaching candidate Arne Slot for the head coach position. It is noted that the parties have found common ground and will hold a second meeting in the near future.

Earlier reports suggested that Slot could become Thomas Tuchel's successor at Bayern Munich.

The 45-year-old Dutchman has been coaching Feyenoord since the summer of 2021. Under his guidance last season, Rotterdam won the Eredivisie, and in the 2021/22 season, they reached the final of the Conference League, narrowly losing to Roma (0-1).

In the current season, Feyenoord is in second place in the Dutch league. In the spring, Slot's team was eliminated from the Champions League, finishing third in their group, and in the Europa League Round of 16, they lost on penalties to Roma once again.
