Bayern have found an unexpected option to replace Tuchel
Bayern Munich continues its search for a new head coach to replace Thomas Tuchel, who will officially leave the club at the end of the season.
According to Abendzeitung-Muenchen, the new candidate to replace Tuchel is Feyenoord's head coach, Arne Slot. Bayern is reportedly impressed with Slot's coaching style and the results his teams have achieved.
However, the primary candidate for Bayern remains the head coach of the sensational Bayer Leverkusen, Xavi Alonso. It has also been reported that the Munich club may consider bringing in Roberto De Zerbi from Brighton.
It is mentioned that Slot is a candidate for the new sporting director role at Bayern, which will be filled by Max Eberl.
The 45-year-old Dutchman has been coaching Feyenoord since the summer of 2021. Under his guidance last season, Rotterdam won the Eredivisie, and in the 2021/22 season, they reached the final of the Conference League, narrowly losing to Roma (0:1). In the current season, Feyenoord holds the second position in the Dutch league. In the spring, Feyenoord was eliminated from the Champions League, finishing third in the group. In the Europa League Round of 16, they lost to Roma in a penalty shootout.
