The young French defender could become a Liverpool player as early as this summer.
Details: According to DaveOckop, citing journalist Paul Joyce, English side Liverpool have set their sights on 20-year-old Rennes centre-back Jeremy Jacquet.
It's reported that a series of injuries among Liverpool’s defenders, along with losing the transfer battle to Manchester City for Marc Guehi, has forced the Reds’ management to actively seek reinforcements for the heart of their defence.
After Liverpool scouts closely monitored Jacquet’s performances, the decision was made to prioritize his signing during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Besides Liverpool, London’s Chelsea are also in the hunt for Jeremy Jacquet.
Rennes are not opposed to parting ways with Jacquet, but they have made it clear that they will only consider offers starting from £56 million.
This season, Jeremy Jacquet has made 18 appearances for Rennes, but has yet to register a goal or assist.
His current contract with the club runs until 2029, and his transfer value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €20 million.
