London side Tottenham have stepped up negotiations with Liverpool over a potential January move for Andy Robertson. According to the Daily Mail, the transfer fee could be as little as £5 million.
The Scotland captain's contract expires next summer, and Spurs have long had him on their radar. However, a string of injuries in the squad and the need for an experienced leader in the dressing room have prompted the club's management to accelerate talks. Initial contacts between the parties have already taken place, and further developments are expected in the coming days.
Let us recall, Robertson joined Anfield from Hull in 2017 for £8 million and has since become one of the club era's most successful signings, making 363 appearances, winning two Premier League titles and the 2019 Champions League.
