After Euro 2024, Valencia and Georgia national team goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili attracted interest from many top European clubs. This interest was further fueled by the Spanish club's willingness to sell the player.

A move to the Premier League seemed most likely, with Newcastle United considered one of the main contenders for his signature. However, after the Magpies failed to reach an agreement on the transfer, teams from Saudi Arabia and other top European clubs entered the fray. The Georgian goalkeeper has expressed that he does not wish to move to the Middle East and prefers joining a major European club.

Recently, it was revealed that Liverpool is seriously considering signing Mamardashvili as a potential replacement for Alisson Becker. However, since the Brazilian goalkeeper's contract is still valid for three more years, Liverpool was prepared to loan Mamardashvili back to Valencia.

According to Fabrizio Romano, this option is quite appealing to Mamardashvili, and Liverpool has already inquired about Valencia’s asking price for the goalkeeper, which stands at €30 million.

It is highly likely that Alisson will remain Liverpool's first-choice goalkeeper for at least another season. While there might be an argument for selling him, given the interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, and making Mamardashvili the main goalkeeper, Liverpool values Alisson's contributions highly and does not plan to part ways with him in the near future.
