Bill Haney, the father of WBC World Lightweight champion Devin Haney, has revealed his son's future plans following his defeat to Ryan Garcia.

Haney Sr. explained that Devin will be taking a brief hiatus before returning to the ring.

"Devin is taking a break. We will continue working until he returns, and I am confident we will make an announcement later. If Devin's jaw is broken, he will need time to recover before returning to the ring to prevent further problems," quoted the boxer's father by Boxing 24/7.

Recall that Ryan Garcia won by a split decision (112-112; 114-110; 115-109). However, he did not claim the WBC title because he exceeded the weight limit by 3.2 pounds (1.45 kg) during the weigh-in ceremony before the fight. Therefore, the WBC World Lightweight title remains with its previous holder, Devin Haney.

Following his defeat to "Flash," "Dream" immediately mentioned a rematch.
