Former WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney commented on his defeat against Ryan Garcia.

Despite Garcia's decisive advantage, Haney believes he fought valiantly and expressed eagerness for a potential rematch.

"Allah is the perfect planner, He makes no mistakes... I fought like a true champion. I got up off the canvas and continued to fight. I’m 100% okay and would love to do it again if we both make weight," Haney wrote on his social media X page (formerly Twitter).

Recall that by a split decision (112-112; 114-110; 115-109), the victory was awarded to Ryan Garcia. This victory ended Haney's nearly five-year reign as the WBC champion.

However, Garcia did not claim the title because during the weigh-in ceremony, Ryan exceeded the weight limit by 3.2 pounds (1.45 kg). Now, the WBC lightweight title is vacant.
